This happened to me recently on an article that was rejected by one pub and accepted by another. The "thanks" note was to a different editor which confused me.

Totally not the editor's fault, it's just a bad feature from Medium that should be removed. Especially since anyone could literally leave a private note for an impersonal thank you. Hopefully they see your article and fix it!
