If you’re trying to add some colour and life to your space, then here is a list of low maintenance plants that anyone can keep alive. Even if you kill everything because you’re not often home enough to care for them. These hearty plants are ones that have survived with little effort.

Aloe Vera

I love my aloe vera plant. My friend propagated it for me not long ago and told me that the best way to take care of it was to ignore it. They don’t like being overwatered. I often forget to water mine, and it’s doing just fine.

My aloe vera is still quite small, but it has survived being dropped and forgotten about for a month. A great trick to see if it needs water is to look at how plump the leaves are. If it’s not very soft, then give it some water. You’ll probably see it plump up the next day.
