No, Antifa was not Pretending to be Trump Supporters in the Washington Coup

But where did this “rumour” come from?

It’s yet another baseless claim being made by right-wing media that apparently “Antifa” supporters disguised themselves as Trump supporters in an attempt to make Trump look bad. It’s a rumour being spread aggressively with a complete lack of evidence and it’s shameful. You don’t get to pick and choose who your supporters are. All the blood and lives lost are on the hands of Trump and his right-wing propaganda machine. Their constant refusal to accept reality and spread misinformation just feeds the conspiracy crowds and is further instigating violence.

But how did this happen? What evidence is there to have caused this outlandish and highly illogical rumour? Let’s look at what sparked this because as with all right-wing rumours, there is a grain of truth.

A Left-Wing Meme Group

The flyer being spread online telling people to “dress up as Trump supporters” was actually around back in 2017, and made rounds again recently in November 2020.
